THE DESIGN PROCESS FOR NEW BUILDS AND RESIDENTIAL BRIEFS
All the information below is a general guide as to how we work at Galvanize Design. However, we are totally aware that each brief is unique and different so we always allow for flexibility and change dependent on your needs. An integral part of this process is to guide you through it, consulting you every step of the way!
1. INITIAL CONSULTATION – THE FIRST 30 MINS / FREE OF CHARGE
The initial consultation is generally held at the client’s location, where we will discuss the brief talking about your ideas, budget, and go over any plans that you have available. If you have any concept images or references that you would like to share with me that would be great too (if you don’t, don’t worry we will develop this on the way!). This first meeting will enable us to gain a deeper understanding of your needs and how we can meet your requirements.
2. ESTIMATED QUOTE
After this initial meeting we will prepare for you a detailed quote on how many hours we will be spending on your brief, broken down into stages so that you can see how many hours are allocated to each task in each area. At this point alterations can be made to allow for the individuals needs and budget.
3. THE DESIGN MEETING
Once you’re happy with the quote, we will meet again and discuss your design in more detail, design magazines, Pinterest and other design sources are available to gain inspiration from. This is the fun part where we work together to start to develop a personalised, customised design that reflects your personality and interests. At this meeting we will also carry out a full site survey, photograph and measure.
4. THE DESIGN
The design will then be developed further in stages communicating with you every step of the way to ensure that you’re happy with the choices that are made. Sample books of finishes and swatches will be available to view and concept / mood boards can also be created to help you visualize your design. We also provide the service to create 3D rendered perspectives of the space which allows you to visualise the concept and understand the feel, ambience and look of the interior.
